If you are in town in august the Harlem Week/Harlem Jazz & Music Festival is an annual summer festival with food, art, concerts, seminars, music and street entertainment. The Urban World Film Festival also takes place in August every year. Year round there are also gospel singers on Sundays at the Gothic-style Abyssinian Baptist, Canaan Baptist and Metropolitan Baptist. Tony's Place Guest House is perfect for those who are looking for a little more ambience and history than a standard hotel in Manhattan. This Victorian style building will transport visitors to a difference time. The bedrooms are individually and beautifully decorated, and all are different. The guest rooms have high ceilings and queen and twin sized beds sleeping anywhere from 1-2 to 4-5 people. Some of the rooms overlook the garden and all share a bathroom. In the rooms, there are coffee and tea making facilities, a TV in the rooms, wireless internet, air-conditioning, fans and heating. All guests have access to the kitchen and dining area, though no breakfast is served here. There is wireless internet and a left luggage office for the convenience of guests.

Solo traveller
Un charme suranné qu'on ne s'attend pas à trouver à New York, boiseries, vieux miroirs, etc.
Localisation dans Harlem OK, très sûre même pour une femme seule à 1h du mat.
Un bémol : une seule salle de bains pour toutes les chambres, d'où un peu d'attente le matin en saison haute.
Personnel sympa mais pas toujours là, par exemple personne avant 10h du mat, donc si on a une question à poser sur un endroit où on veut aller, on doit se débrouiller seul.

Salle de bain et surtout douche hors d'age mais on ne se dérange pas les uns les autres.
Quartier calme et très proche du centre par métro.
